GRIFFITH College, the country's largest independent thirdlevel institution with over 8,000 students, is searching for new premises for its Cork and Limerick campuses. The college is currently housed in two sites in Cork - Drinan Street and Patrick's Hill - and the old townhall in Limerick but is looking for premises of over 2,040sq m in both city centres.
Griffith College's Dublin campus is located in the old Griffith Barracks on the South Circular Road. This landmark building has recently undergone a Euro50m redevelopment, including a conference centre and residence halls.
Ronan Fenelon, director of operations at Griffith College who is leading the search for suitable premises, said: "We have redeveloped the Dublin campus and now want to provide similar facilities in Cork and Limerick to cater for increased student numbers.
"Our preference would be to acquire the sites but we are open to other options. We are interested in looking at former institutional buildings - convents or secondary schools for example - or a new building in the right location and at the right price."
