LORETO SEE OFF CROSS AND PASSION TO CLINCH JUNIOR 'A' FINAL SPOT

LORTEO Kilkenny are through to the junior 'A' AllIreland colleges final later this month following their 5-6 to 2-4 victory over Cross and Passion College Ballycastle, Co.Antrim yesterday in the semi-final.

A handpassed goal after just five minutes from Loreto's Laura Hennessey set the 'Kittens' up for a half time lead of 3-5 to Ballycastle's 0-1. Ballycastle got a much better start to the second half with two goals within the opening three minutes from Aisling Mc Fadden and Kerry Smyth.

But with Nicola Butler and and Claire Phelan playing a tight, defensive game for Lorteo, Ballycastle could not get through and a further two goals from Loreto pair Niamh Byrne and Aisling O'Grady sealed the win.

This year's junior 'B' All-Ireland colleges final will be between first time All-Ireland finalists St.Dominics of Cabra, Dublin who overcame St.Louis Ballymena 1-12 to 1-3 and Coachford Community School Cork who beat Galway side Holy Rosary Mountbellew 4-7 to 0-1 in the second 'B' semi-final.
