South Dublin homes give sales a needed boost



THERE'S no denying that this year's auction season has been a bit lacklustre, with numerous withdrawals and poor showings at the auction rooms but last week it got a much needed boost with the sale of No 61 Park Avenue, Sandymount, a fourbed Edwardian property on the market with joint agents Sherry FitzGerald and Bennetts Auctioneers. It was withdrawn at Euro7.8m and sold afterwards for substantially higher than its Euro8m AMV.

The other big success story of the week was the sale of No 5 Ballygihen Avenue in Sandycove, owned by the property editor of the Irish Times, which sold for well over its AMV for Euro3.1m.
