MARIST COLLEGEwill look to the Thompson twins, Trevor and Gavin, to propel them to their second ever Connacht Tribune Senior Cup title against red-hot favourites Garbally College at the Sportsground on Tuesday.
The brothers will sandwich hooker David Burns in a front row looking to exert pressure across the coalface.
Openside Jack Keegan has emerged as a revelatory figure in the back row beside Connacht Schools' Darragh Kelly.
Coach Mick Loftus has moved his stand-out backs Billy Henshaw, from wing to centre, and Adam Kennedy, from nine to 10, to give his side a narrower channel through which to make progress.
Marist have handled Summerhill College (17-10), St Calasanctus, Oranmore (17-3) and Gallen Community College (5-0) on the way to the final. They were without their three inter-provincials Kelly, Henshaw and Kennedy in the 21-10 League loss to Garbally before Christmas.
That match must seem like a lifetime ago. So much has changed for both sides.
Garbally will have their captain Barry Gibbons and full-back Niall Dolan back from injury for the final as Callum Southgate and Eanna Tiernan slip down to the bench.
St Muredach's College (36-0), Colaiste Iognaid (6-5) and Clifden Community School (17-8) have all been dispatched and the Connacht Senior League title has already been stored away in a trophy-laden cabinet.
Hooker Gibbons is valued for his leadership, a strong tight game and accurate throwing to the lineout while JJ Carey and openside Eric Cullinane will be two other key factors in what is sure to be a ferocious forward battle.
Garbally should have an edge with out-half Robert O'Beirne a cool presence at out-half and John O'Brien, in his second year with the Ireland under-18s, their main strike weapon at outside centre.
