Kilmore Quay, Co Wexford: from Euro279,000 - Quay to good family living
June Edwards

KILMORE Quay, one of Ireland's most popular tourist villages, saw the launch of a stylish new residential scheme this weekend, with the opening of the Grange, a scheme of 47 three- and fourbed houses and bungalows, just a few minutes walk from the centre of the village. A pretty development, homes here are quite quaint looking with traditional-style wooden windows and doors, and over-hanging porches.

Kilmore is just a few miles from Rosslare Harbour, while the larger towns of Enniscorthy and New Ross are about 40 minutes drive away, and Dublin city is less than two hours drive.

Developed by Tierra Investments Ltd, whose other schemes include the Cove at Rosslare, the Grange comprises a good mix of decentsized, family-style, semi-detached houses and detached bungalows, some of which come with an integrated garage.

According to the selling agents, these units are suitable for use as either a permanent residence or as a weekend/holiday home. All units have front and back gardens and a driveway, and with a purpose-built, on-site crche and play area for children, the Grange will no doubt appeal to young families. Well laid out, the Grange also includes quite a bit of communal land which will be landscaped.

All homes have a hall, guest WC, contemporary fitted kitchen, dining room, living room, utility area, bedrooms, bathroom and one en-suite.

The larger four-beds have a spacious open-plan kitchen cum dining room.

Nearby Kilmore village has shops, post office and other local facilities, while plans are underway at Kilmore Quay for a new five-star hotel with health spa, golf course, leisure centre and marina.

When completed there will be 47 units on-site, with the first 10 homes now launched due to be ready from this summer onwards.
