London Irish will have a record Guinness Premiership crowd cheering them on against Wasps today as they begin a week which could define their season. The Exiles face successive London derbies against Wasps and Saracens - teams immediately above them in the table - inside six days, knowing two victories would propel them right into the play-off mix.
"Our recent run of success means that there is lots of self-belief, both individual and collective, among the squad at present, all of it will be needed as we prepare to face Wasps and Saracens who are directly above us in the league, " said Exiles boss Brian Smith. "But the prospect of playing before over 22,000 people has the players really excited, I'm sure they will want to give of their best on what will be a great rugby occasion."
