THE three-star Baltimore Harbour Hotel, one of Munster's best-known hostelries, is for sale.
The Baltimore Harbour Hotel and Leisure Centre, which occupies an elevated 2.2 acre (0.89ha) site overlooking the picturesque harbour and islands in the charming west Cork village of Baltimore, is expected to fetch between 7m and 8m.
The property includes the main hotel with 40 en-suite bedrooms, six adjoining threebed townhouses and 12 twobed apartments. The accommodation is adaptable to suit a variety of needs.
The hotel also includes a fully equipped health and leisure centre boasting a 16metre swimming pool, children's pool, sauna, steam room, treatment rooms and fully equipped gymnasium.
The hotel offers dining, function and bar facilities with its award-winning Clipper restaurant with seating for 80 people.
"The spacious site comes with extensive car parking facilities and would be ideally suitable for further development or extension of the existing hotel, " says John Hughes of joint selling agent CB Richard Ellis. "Like many properties of this type it would also suit alternative use, subject to planning."
A traditional holiday resort, the village is renowned for its sailing and maritime tradition.
