How we position ourselves in an environment, both physically and psychologically, is the theme of a very engaging exhibition at the Model Arts and Niland Gallery in Sligo. Entitled Your Position as Much as your Environment, featured artists include Andrew Mania, whose parents were second world war refugees, their tales of turbulent experiences colouring his upbringing and inspiring his work; as well as Mark Orange, whose micro dramas unfolding around architectural sites in New York will also be shown.
Two films by UK-based artists Graham Gussin are also on view, including 2006's Spill, which was filmed at night on Mitcham Common, London, capturing a neglected scrubland, with the city visible in the distance.
