Security firm probed over Finglas murder
Mick McCaffrey Security Editor

THE owner of a security firm has been arrested as part of the probe into the murder of innocent apprentice plumber Anthony Campbell.

Detectives believe the company director allowed Campbell's murderers store the getaway car in an apartment block in north Dublin which his company was supposed to be guarding. Gardai also suspect the getaway vehicle used in Baiba Saulite's murder was stored there.

The man is known to police, who believe his security company is a front to launder cash and extort money from builders and other businessmen. He was arrested last Wednesday along with one of his employees. Both were released without charge. He is believed to be close to the prime suspects in the murder of Campbell and gangland boss Martin 'Marlo' Hyland, and has previous convictions.

The man approached the builders of the apartment complex after a series of break-ins. The apartments have been used as a base by a major group of Finglas criminals although the builders do not know this.
