Challenge on housing projection



HOUSING minister Noel Ahern's prediction that 600,000 new homes will need to be built within the next nine years to match demand was this weekend challenged by independent TD Catherine Murphy. She voiced concerns in response to the latest ESRI economic commentary which revealed 25% of new houses built over the past five years were second dwellings or holiday homes.
