ROS' PROVIDE EASY PICKINGS FOR MAYO



It couldn't have been much easier for All-Ireland champions Mayo as they beat Roscommon 1-22 to 1-8 in the Connacht U21 football championship final at McHale Park yesterday.

Tom Parsons ran through for a goal after seven minutes and Mayo lead by 1-9 to 0-3 after 22 minutes. Roscommon scored 1-2 without reply, the goal by Cathal Cregg, but an Andy Hanley point before the break left Mayo 1-10 to 1-5 ahead. The second-half was a stroll for the home team.

SScorers Mayo: P Hanley 0-9 (5f), A Campbell 0-5 (1f, 1 45), T Parsons 1-0, B Moran 0-2, A Hanley 0-2, M Ronaldson 0-1, T Cunniffe 0-1, D Kilcullen 0-1, A McManamon 0-1.
