KIA Motors is upping the ante with rivals with a new five-year/unlimited kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty for the new Carens compact MPV.
The extension of the warranty from the three-year follows hot on the heels of the five-year warranty given on the new Kia Cee'd when the vehicle was launched at the Paris Motor Show.
The new Carens warranty has been made possible by the improved manufacturing processes at Kia's Gwangju plant in Korea and the resulting higher build quality, since production of the new Carens model began there in September 2006.
Kia is also making the new warranty 'retroactive' so that customers who have already purchased a new-style Carens will also benefit from the fiveyear/unlimited kilometre cover. The new warranty will be free and transferable to subsequent owners, provided the vehicle is regularly maintained in accordance with the Kia servicing schedule.
