THIS is the third and final instalment of Couperin's harpsichord music for Hyperion from Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt. The 'Treizi�me Ordre' suite, is here presented in its poised entirety in the company of four of the seven pieces from the 'Quatorzi�me Ordre' and other excerpts from the first three volumes of Couperin's 'Pi�ces de Clavecin'. Expression and precision, the essence of what the composer himself desired this music to speak of, are not found wanting in Hewitt's approach but, on the modern piano, her intentions can become slightly overbearing in the louder moments.
