AIB JUNIOR CUP FINAL SEAPOINT 47 COLERAINE 15 Dubarry Park
IRELAND U-20 full-back Felix Jones ran in two excellent tries as Seapoint captured the AIB Junior Cup with a facile win at Dubarry Park yesterday.
But it was a brace of tries from winger Ben Focas in the opening quarter which laid the foundation for the deserved success by the south Dublin side.
Seapoint had the title sown up by the interval when a brace from Focas and one from the other winger, Carl DeChenu, saw them open up a 25-5 lead, with Colin McNay responding for the Ulstermen. Any hopes of a comeback by Coleraine were killed off after the restart when hooker Aaron Dundon got in after 42 minutes and then Jones scored his first three minutes later.
Coleraine responded with tries from Denis Taylor and Paul Brown but Seapoint sealed their emphatic victory when Jones intercepted in the closing minutes for his side's sixth try.
Fly-half Brian Keegan added his fourth conversion to finish with a personal tally of 17 points, having also kicked two penalties and a first-half drop goal.
