No 3 Crosbies Yard, Spencer Dock, Dublin: charity auction, 24 May Auctioning to the highest taste bidder
June Edwards

ONE lucky buyer will take home the keys of Apartment No 3 Crosbies Yard, beside Spencer Dock, later next month, when the apartment which was donated by Harry Crosbie, interior-designed by John Rocha, and fitted out in an exclusive manner, is auctioned in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation.

A large two-bed first floor apartment of 78sq m (844sq ft), No 3 is the ultimate in luxury. Flooring is solid walnut wide plank, while the ultramodern kitchen comes with stone worktops, high-spec appliances, polished plaster and glass walls. A wide hallway filled with light provides access to the bedrooms and living area, while the property also includes a small study.

The main bedroom is very chic with panelled leather walls, full-height walnut wardrobes, and an elegant ensuite bathroom with a carved limestone bath and walnut flooring.

Even the guest bathroom is the epitome of elegance with black glass acting as a backdrop to a wall of crystal drops.

"We have no idea what price this apartment will achieve, " says Anne Marie Butler of the Irish Hospice Foundation. "As a shell, it would have cost around Euro400,000, but it has been fitted out and finished to the highest of standards and includes everything right down to the cutlery, " adds Butler.

Truly a one-off property, the apartment has been interior-designed by John Rocha, which is sure to add a few bob to its value, and around 20 subcontractors worked on the project, mostly giving their time for free.

Located on Ossary Road, beside the Spencer Dock Development, Crosbies Yard comprises 200 apartments.

A popular city location, rental demand for properties like this, so close to the IFSC, are always strong.
