Co Wexford cottage sells for almost four times AMV



IT WAS a slow week at the auctions with just six lots going under the hammer.

Fern Cottage, a detached three-bed on just over one third of an acre in Co Wexford was the only property to sell, and at almost four times over its Euro250,000 AMV for Euro950,000.

The property was bought by a County Kildare couple who successfully outbid six other bidders to nail the sale.

While it does require modernisation, according to agents, the big attraction of Fern Cottage is its location within a stone's throw of a Blue Flag beach in the heart of Ireland's premier holiday resort.
