Hamilton High School claimed the All Ireland Colleges C football "nal with a 4-11 to 3-10 win over St Paul's Oughterard in Limerick yesterday.
A last second goal by Bandon midfielder Paul Coomey took this thrilling game to extra time during which the Cork side dominated and outscored their opponents by six points to two for a dramatic win.
Both sides scored their first half goals from penalties.
The first came for Hamilton HS after only three minutes when Barry Horgan broke through and was hauled down. He scored the penalty himself. The Oughterard penalty came after 20 minutes when Martin Coady was taken down and Damien O'Reilly converted. At half time the Galway side led by 1-5 to 1-2 and when they had two goals in as many minutes within five minutes of the restart by Joe Greaney and Martin Coady they looked to be cruising.
Bandon hit back with a goal by Horgan and another by Darren Murray before Coomey's dramatic goal.
