Domino (36m 42s) . . . . .
The fastest selling debut in British rock history. The 2006 Mercury award. Being compared in cultural import to the Clash, the Smiths and Blur. Pressure? Somehow the Sheffield fourpiece have managed to make an album that doesn't reflect their iconic status or, indeed, that isn't self consciously trying to avoid it. Blistering '70s metal riffs, weepy tremolo effects, ska beats, doo wop flourishes, all packed with Alex Turner's devilishly clever couplets. As good as the debut? Better, is what it is.

Delorentos In Love With Detail Cottage (41m 29s) . . .
Huge expectation has surrounded this debut from one of the best live Dublin bands around. The result? Lots of angular, post punk guitar and songs about girls. Frantic, immediate, punchy and professional, Delorentos will invariably be bunched in with the Maximo Park/Futureheads strand of emo-indie in Britain.
And while they don't sound out of place rubbing shoulders with any of those, haven't the times moved on a bit since?
