TRACEY COLLINS, who took over the licence following the death of her father, the legendary trainer Con Collins in January, sent out her first winner when Dandy Man landed the listed Woodlands Stakes in fine style. Partnered by Pat Shanahan the 4/6 favourite trounced his nearest rival Flash McGahon by four and a half lengths.
Collins said, "It's a nice way to start with my first winner.
He's a well-made horse who's really developing and he'll improve from that. He gets better with racing. He's in the Temple Stakes at Sandown and also the Greenlands Stakes, and hopefully he'll continue on from there."
Jockey Wayne Lordan continued his good run of success thanks to the one-length win of the Tommy Stack-trained The Loan Express in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race.
Dutch Bullet sprang a 25/1 surprise under 7lb claimer Chris Timmons when taking the Naas Median Auction Maiden for the Kevin Prendergast stable. The trainer said, "That's only his second run and I have nothing special in mind for him. He's a halfbrother to Dutch Harrier and his dam died foaling him. He was reared on the bottle and that's probably why it took him so long!"
Apprentice Shane Gorey missed out on a winner through injury on Shrone in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap. Kieran O'Neill deputised for him on Leslie Young's 7/1 winner and brought the five-year-old home by two lengths.
