'I love hanging out with friends and going go-karting'
SUNDAY is usually a working day for me . . . I work in customer service out at Dublin Airport, I'm one of the guys in pink shirts trying to keep people happy. Officially we're called Customer Service Agents.
I live at home with my family in Swords and my shift could start as early as 4.30 in the morning. I drive myself to the airport . . . it can be hard to pull myself out of bed if I've been out the night before.
I love the job . . . I've made lots of friends and had so many experiences, good and bad, that I could write a book. Some people get very stressed out and frustrated being in the airport so it's our job to stay calm at all times.
We usually manage to have a bit of a laugh. The shift lasts for eight hours.
If I'm not working then I like to have a bit of a lie-in before starting work on my college projects. I'm in Colaiste Dhulaigh studying for the HND in Interior Design.
Since I was about 10, I wanted to be an architect but when I went on work experience to an architect's office I found it all a bit too structured.
What I'm most interested in is working with space and how people interact with that space.
The Habitat project was all about compact living . . .
my idea was for a spherical pendant light made out of one hundred and sixty three goose feather shuttlecocks.
I've been working on the idea on and off since first year. I started off using ping pong balls but it didn't look as good.
Then I thought about a tower but it was too expensive. As it is, it cost me 153 for the shuttlecocks.
I'm in the process of getting the design patented and then I'll start talking to manufacturers. All of the judges said they'd like to have one in their own house so that was encouraging. Part of my prize is work experience with Habitat and I'm really looking forward to it.
I also won a glass trophy and 1,000. I was in Barcelona with friends when I heard that I'd made it through to the final.
In the afternoon I usually head out with friends. We might go to Beshoff 's in Howth. I'll have chips and chicken goujons. Two or three times a month we go gokarting at Kart City in Santry. I'd go more often if I could afford it but it's 40, which is a bit expensive when you're a poor student.
When I'm finished in Colaiste Dhulaigh I'm hoping to take a higher degree in interior architecture at Griffith College so I'll be impoverished for another few years yet!
Later on we might go for a drink to the Old Boro or Wright's in Swords.
I try to have an early night because of college the next day. I watch lots of television generally and on Sunday evenings I catch the repeats of Bones
