ARD Michael Woods, Ballinalee Road, Longford, is host to a new scheme of 'A' rated energy-efficient houses approved by Sustainable Energy Ireland, launching this weekend.
Developed by P Elliott & Co and designed by David McCormack & Co architects, the scheme consists of three- and four-bed 'house of tomorrow' homes ranging in size from 105 to 171sq m (1,130 to 1,844 sq ft), incorporating the latest in sustainable-energy home technology.
Each home comes with the government's new Building Energy Rating Certificate (BER) which will be central to the future value of property, as BERs are required on all new homes since January of this year.
All homes are airtight, properly ventilated, well insulated and heated by an efficient heat pump system using renewable energy which costs up to 60% less to heat than a typical house. Residents can also save up to 1,500 per year with the reverse osmosis water filter, ensuring that they will not have to buy drinking water again.
Set among the mature surroundings of the former Bishop's Mansion, this Section 23 development offers high-spec quality homes with solid wood kitchens and granite worktops, bespoke internal doors, marble fireplaces, broadband and generous tiling in bathrooms.
