Top awards for Dun Laoghaire CFE

Two of Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education's finest . . . a student and a lecturer - have beaten off over 1,300,000 potential other winners to receive recognition through City & Guilds' annual Medals for Excellence awards programme.

Dublin-based South African student David Callanan scooped a Highly Commended Learner award for his work in Computer Aided Design at Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education, while Lecturer Kirsten Briggs also landed herself a Highly Commended certificate.

Kirsten was awarded the lecturer certificate for her achievements on the Computer Aided Design qualification as part of Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education's Architectural Technology & Design Course.

They were presented with their awards at a ceremony at the Coach House, Dublin Castle on Tuesday, April 24, with Minister Micheal Martin as guest of honour.
