The Cribs Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever Wichita (42m 36s) . . .
The three brothers from Wakefield have been outstripped by their smarter British counterparts over the past few years, gigging and charting in the shadows, and it looks like they'll remain there for the foreseeable future, despite Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapranos as the producer. There's plenty to dance to here and an offensive regional vocal, which is essential in British poprock these days. But it's still indecisive indie that is slightly short on melody and oomph, although the appearance of Lee Ranaldo on 'Be Safe' is brilliant.
