Stealing Klimt

This programme details the trials of Maria Altmann in recovering five Gustav Klimt paintings stolen by the Nazis from her family in Vienna. Up until last year, these paintings, which were taken during the second world war, were hanging in the Austrian National Gallery. From her early life in glam Vienna to the US Supreme Court, the struggle to regain these paintings, worth hundreds of millions is charted here.
