THE son of legendary former director general of the GAA, Sean O Siochain, is hoping to cause an upset in Wicklow by taking the PDs' first-ever seat there.
Donal O Siochain, a senior party activist since the PDs' foundation over two decades ago, is a former worker director of Aer Lingus, having joined the airline in 1967 as a pilot.
O Siochain says his priorities for the constituency are to ensure that the upgrading of the N11 is finished, along with the work on the N81 which he says has the highest ratio of trucks to cars of any road in the country. He would also push for a new medical emergency centre in the Wicklow town area, the creation of a harbour authority for the county and broadband for all of Wicklow.
