When you've spent an entire afternoon in the hairdressers, you can be guaranteed two things.
One is that you've a headache from reading 27 trashy magazines consecutively, and the other is that you're probably weak with hunger.
Considering what high prices some salons command, it seems strange that, at best, all you're ever offered is a cup of coffee to keep the energy levels up. However, the clever people at Brown Sugar on South William Street, Dublin 2 realise that Irish women's stomachs need as much attending to as their hair and nails do.
The salon is now offering some healthy food options, as well as a selection of wines, teas, coffees and juices. The menu comes from Dublin restaurant, Nude, and includes salads and wraps, while the drinks menu has sparkling little numbers like Angas Brut. It can't be long before other salons follow suit. 50 South William Street; tel 01 6169967
