Audi still thinking big with its new range of coupes
EXPENSIVE cars are still big business despite what the pundits say about the economy. Audi dealers are already taking orders for the new A5 coupe although stocks will not arrive here until July.
Customers have a choice of four models in SE specification; a more powerful S5 with higher specification will also be available.
This version will have a 4.2 litre FSI V8 354bhp engine with six-speed quattro power. The price is 85,500. This comes with big 18" alloy wheels and aggressive exterior 'S' styling.
The A5 range will be the biggest seller, with petrol models getting a 3.2-litre FSI V6 265bhp engine with multitronic transmission; they'll sell at 64,900. A sixspeed quattro permanent four-wheel drive will sell at 65,250.
The diesel options are a 2.7-litre TDi V6 190bhp multitronic selling at 60,850 and a three-litre TDi V6 238bhp six-speed quattro selling at 64,900.
ESC is standard across the range.
