Alas, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to parenthood but two new books offer guidance and a helping hand. Child psychologist Dave Coleman (pictured) is well-known from the RTE series, Families in Trouble and now he's written his first book, Parenting is Child's Play. Coleman, a father of three, focuses on the first six years of growing up, covering the basic gist of raising children, from eating to discipline to being a working parent. Author Kate Mosse has updated her bestseller Becoming a Mother, which combines scientific and medical facts, looking at conception to birth, week by week, from the mother's emotional point of view. Essential additions to any parent or parent-to-be's library.
