ST BRICIN'S PARK GOES FULL CIRCLE

Circle Voluntary Housing Association announced last week that it has submitted a planning application to Dublin City Council to redevelop a twoacre site at St Bricin's Park, Dubln 7, which at present contains 68 units of bedsit accommodation.

The proposed plan seeks to demolish the existing bedsits, which are regarded as inadequate and build 90 self-contained, secure sheltered housing units for the elderely, a day care centre and an Alzheimer unit. The planned redevelopment of the park, which has been designed by CJ Falconer & Associates (chartered architects and planning consultants) is a component of the council's policy of redeveloping its stock of existing accommodation for the elderly that was adopted as policy in May 2006.

LICENSED TO SELL IN ATHLONE TOWN

Savills HOK is seeking offers of over 6.15m for two licensed properties in Athlone Town. The properties which occupy a high-pro"le position in the town's main street on Custume Place, are available for purchase in one or two lots.

Unit 12/13 comprises a three-storey over basement building, with the two upper "oors held under a 20-year lease from October 2006 with a headline rent of 65,000 per annum in year three. The ground "oor and basement extending to 508sq m is available with full vacant possession.

JOYCE'S COURTS THE STATE-OF-THE-ART

WHAT'S THE LONG POINT IN CORK?

A pub in Co Cork, which celebrity chef and 'Sunday Tribune' food writer Rachel Allen has selected to appear in her forthcoming series on pub food in Ireland, is to be sold by private treaty through Hegarty Properties.
