Sigmar : among Europes elite

Dublin, Ireland, Thursday, 17 May 2007.Sigmar Recruitment, one of the leading professional recruitment companies in Ireland, has been named by The Great Place to WorkR Institute as one of the best 100 companies to work for in Europe.

Sigmar has also been short listed for the special Credibility award at the fifth annual Great Place to WorkR European Awards and Conference, hosted by the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Dublin, on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th May 2007.

Sigmar was the only indigenous Irish company to be short listed for the Awards.

The Great Place to WorkR Institute, Inc. is a research and management consultancy head-quartered in the U.S. with International Affiliate offices throughout the world.

The Great Place to WorkR Institute has been evaluating employers since 1980 in order to understand what makes a workplace great. The Institute's ongoing research, measurement tools and educational services have made it leader inhelping build high-trust workplaces Last March, Sigmar was also named by the Great Place to WorkR Institute of Ireland as one of the best 10 Irish companies to work for.Robert Mac Giolla Phadraig, associate director of Sigmar Recruitment Ireland, welcomes the award, coming as it does on the heels of the Irish award. "Being voted one of the best companies to work for in Ireland was a great honour, but being awarded as one of the top European companies to work for is fantastic achievement for the company. It is a also a great endorsement of the work we do abroad and will provide a boost to our growing network of European offices."

Testament to its award placement is Sigmar's low turnover of staff, which is somewhere in the region of just 5pc over five years - a very low figure in the recruitment industry.

Sigmar offers a comprehensive training and development programme, whichencourages staff to go after their business and personal goals. There is also opportunity for career development and a positive worklife balance is also promoted.

Every quarter the company pays for a night out for staff and, last Christmas, employees from all the offices in Ireland were flown to Germany for the weekend for their Christmas party.

The company also has a corporate citizenship programme in place, and last Christmas instead of giving corporate gifts, the company donated money directly to the Niall Mellon Trust. Sigmar Recruitment is one of the leading professional recruitment companies in Ireland. Since its inception, over five years ago, the Sigmar brand hasbecome synonymous with quality service, integrity and a proactive and energetic approach to recruitment.

Sigmar is made up of specialist divisions including banking, accountancy, IT, technical, insurance, legal, hr, sales & marketing and office. This enables Sigmar to cater for and service large blue-chip companies which have demands often far beyond the capabilities of many smaller niche agencies.

Large multinationals tend to recruit staff across diverse sectors from Sales & Marketing to IT, from Accountancy to legal. Such companies demand supportfrom a single agency with a number of specialist divisions offering seamless account management. Sigmar is aptly placed to offer this quality service to companies.

Consequently, Sigmar can also offer its candidates animpressive selection of opportunities with the top blue chip employers in Ireland.

Sigmar is also delighted to work with small to medium sized business. Again, Sigmar brings into force its broad range of capabilities on behalf of smaller companies. In the headquarters in Hume St. there are full videoconferencing facilities which allow the consultants to interview quality candidates from all over the world. The company currently employs over one hundred staff and has offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Prague, Bratislava, Frankfurt, Warsaw and Gdansk.

Sigmar's success is down to its culture and long term partnership with clients. The company has encouraged staff to invest in the company and earn shareholding which is one of the reasons that consultant turnover has been exceptionally low.

Low turnover equals consistency in service. Sigmar also prides itself on fostering an entrepreneurial culture through the creationof an environment that offers progression through reward, staff developmentand training.

Sigmar also practices effective promotion based on meritocracy.

Ultimately Sigmar's Culture is formed on a 'can do' attitude and a sense of belonging and ownership among staff from top to bottom.
