CHOICE WORDS

I think those people in the media who wrote off Cork must have spent the winter watching Coronation Street. If they'd come along to any of our training sessions in January or February they would have seen the unbelievable effort we were putting in Cork's Jerry O'Connor takes aim at any and all of the Rebels' detractors I was particularly disappointed with the chairman of the GPA [Donal Og Cusack] for coming out and saying that it was only handbags stuff. A handbag wouldn't have been much good on Sunday with some of what I saw Former Munster Council Chairman Sean Fogarty reacts to the pre-match shenanigans before Cork v Clare There's no place in the game for the over physicality that we saw between Armagh and Donegal.

That was rugby league-type football and I don't like it when skilful players are unable to express themselves Longford manager Luke Dempsey ponders where the game of Gaelic football is going If Rafa said he wanted to buy 'Snoogy Doogy', we would back him Liverpool co-owner George Gillett vows to back manager Rafael Benitez to the hilt in the transfer market Why did he only mention African and Caribbean countries? To me, that smacks of racism of the worst kind. We all feel deeply insulted and we will support any moves to send him back to Scotland where he belongs FIFA vice-president Jack Warner demonstrates equal insensitivity when responding to comments attributed to John McBeth, who was replaced by FA chairman Geoff Thompson as Britain's vice-president after the furore I just think the FA are inherently weak when it comes to these issues. We've been eroding the power of the referee for years and years. I've been refereeing in the Premiership since 1993, I'm the most experienced referee they've got and yet my credibility no longer holds Graham Poll lets rip at the FA, and chief executive Brian Barwick in particular, after quitting in protest at his treatment following his row with Chelsea last season I was told to take it easy, so there was no point pressuring him into a mistake, and then if he had made a mistake to crash into him, so it was best to finish one-two Lewis Hamilton tries to look on the bright side after being told by the McLaren team to settle for second place behind his team-mate Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix last week I have actually reached the stage where I don't know what to say England head coach Brian Ashton after a raft of illness and injury setbacks hit his alreadydepleted squad
