Renault's latest taste of France in an Irish summer
Martin Brennan

RENAULT has launched a limited edition Megane Cabrio, the 'Monaco', to the Irish market just in time for summer. With its electrically-folding panoramic glass roof, high safety levels and increased equipment, the Mgane CC is one of the best-selling cabriolets in its class here. Renault has upgraded the standard equipment levels on the new facelifted version of the Mgane 2007 CC range.

The 16-valve 111bhp petrol engine comes with the option of a manual five-speed or a fourspeed automatic transmission. The new version offers a higher specification which includes biscuit and charcoal leather upholstery and metallic paint. The new limited edition has a sporty look with 17in 'Luxor' alloy wheels, chrome roof arches to draw attention to the car's roofline and dark grey headlamp surrounds to further distinguish the model.

Renault say the Monaco will take a significant proportion of Coup-Cabriolet sales this summer as customers of CC models tend to purchase more of the range-topping versions than saloon or hatchback car buyers. There is a choice of three metallic colours - Black, Nevada Gold and Platinum, the latter being exclusive to this model.

The Mgane Cabrio Monaco is now available at Euro35,000.
