TRIED & TASTED SALT AND VINEGAR CRISPS

Forget these new-fangled, posh crisps with their slow-roasted lamb and mint or braised buffalo and basil flavours. It's time to get back to our roots with some oldfashioned salt and vinegar goodness. . .

Hunky Dorys Salt & Malt Vinegar �0.79/45g These thick-cut potatoes with ridges are extremely well flavoured. Lovely vinegar kick and the flavour lingers nicely afterwards.

Extra marks for the crunchy, crisp bite.

The Real McCoy's Ridge Cut Salt & Malt Vinegar �0.85/50g Overly thick with deep ridges, these have quite a distinctive potato taste. They seem very vinegary at first but the flavour disappears almost as soon as they hit your tongue.

*Tayto Salt & Vinegar �0.65/37g Paper thin, these crisps melt on the tongue upon contact. The flavouring smells strong but doesn't deliver upon tasting and melts away almost instantly.

Walkers Baked Salt & Vinegar �0.60/25g Thick and rippled these are smothered in great flavours.

The texture is slightly drier than a fried crisp but considering they've been baked they're healthier without losing any of their appeal. Very tasty.
