It doesn't rain but it pours. . .

WHATEVER you do, don't lose your brolly this weekend. According to Met Eireann, we're going to see "rain, rain and more rain", with virtually no reprieve from the bad weather this week.

"There's going to be no let-up from the rain over the next few days, I'm afraid, " said a spokeswoman for Met Eireann. "While (Saturday) saw some scattered showers, (Sunday) is going to be thundery and cool, with prolonged and heavy rainfall countrywide."

Monday is set to have less rain, but there will still be regular showers, while Tuesday will have more persistent rainfall and Wednesday will see heavy showers deluging the country. There is likely to be a risk of flooding in local areas.

"We're going to get wet, there's no getting around it, " said the spokeswoman.

Most weather stations around the country have recorded double the average rainfall for the month so far.
