"I set up the business to fill a gap in the market for the supply of top quality cars combined with high quality, affordable after sales service, " he explained.

Prestige Classic Cars specialises in high quality vehicles and its high levels of repeat business are proof of the quality of the cars it supplies. Vehicle sourcing is also a major part of the business.

"Some customers are not exactly sure what they want, but others will have specific requirements, " explained Mervyn. "We can find the car for them and make any alterations they want. Customising classic cars is not a major activity in Ireland but we can provide this service."

Prestige Classic Cars has teamed up with Lichtenberg Classics (a specialist provider of maintenance and restoration services for vintage cars, particularly Mercedes) to offer a comprehensive after sales service.

"We are happy to take back every car we sell because they are good quality and well cared for, " added Mervyn. "There are dealers out there who refuse to accept cars they have sold as trade-ins or charge ridiculous prices for servicing, which scares off some people who might otherwise buy a classic car. There is no reason why a classic car service should be more expensive."
