Since opening its doors a few months ago, Balzac Brasserie and Cocktail Bar on Dublin's Dawson Street (01 677 44440) has already become an established presence on the dining scene, thanks to a combination of Paul Flynn's skillful cooking and the restaurant's glamorous intimacy. Cocktails are quite spectacular too, with awardwinning mixologist Alan Kavanagh serving up classic drinks as well as new age options like lemon and toffee martini. Yum. The pretheatre menu , from Sunday to Thursday, 7pm-7.30pm, is easily one of the best value menus in town (two courses for 22 and three for 28). We've got a prize of cocktails, followed by a dinner for two to give away to one lucky, hungry, thirsty reader. Send your name, address and contact details to hotshots@tribune. ie to be in with a chance to win.
