Tailoring. Look for work-wear that sculpts rather than wafts and party dresses that cling rather than balloon. Summer greys, taupes and beiges can be worn well into October so snap them up now at half the price you can expect to pay in August.

Elegant glamour. The retro-feel of summer will continue into early autumn. High waisted trousers and skirts can be worn now with a fresh cotton blouse and teamed later with shirts and tank-tops. Look for anything that you could imagine on Angelina Jolie and think curvaceous and slinky.

Accessories. Wide and skinny belts, loafers, pumps, leggings, cuffs and booties are all key items.
