OFFALY HURLERS END SEASON ON A HIGH

Despite both sides playing without the services of their under-21 contingent, Dublin and Offaly served up some entertaining hurling at O'Connor Park yesterday afternoon with the home side winning 2-25 to 213. Brian Carroll was the ace in the Faithful pack, and his goal on the break of half-time proved a major lift to the home side, who led 1-10 to 0-9 at the interval.

Offaly began to dominate early in the second half and hit five unanswered points before Dublin's clinical free-taker, David Curtain, slotted over his fifth of the day. John McEntyre's men continued to dominate the game and despite two second-half goals from Dublin, Offaly finished to game strongly with 12 points to spare.
