This month is traditionally one of the slowest for sports in the US.
The basketball and ice hockey seasons have finished, American football pre-season hasn't started yet while the baseball year is still waiting to take off. This has given some sports that may not usually get the limelight time to shine. So this month saw the first ever USARPS (United States of America Rock Paper Scissors) league championship televised across the country on ESPN, the world leader for sports.
Over 200 finalists took part in a sport that USARPS legend Master Roshambollah described as "a complex game. The winners must possess skill, strategy, stamina, arms and fists. Now if you tell me this sport doesn't require athleticism, I'll show you a player that's suffering from shoulder fatigue, wrist cramps, and RPS-Tunnel Syndrome."
Following a thrilling tournament, Jamie 'Landshark' Langridge defeated David 'the Brain' Borne in the final with a paper over rock throw.
