Chile may have been beaten 6-1 by Brazil in the Copa America this month but at least they had a good time in the process. Six players from the team have been suspended by the country's football federation for 20 games because their preparation for the Brazil match included an evening at their hotel in which they got drunk, trashed a room and verbally abused female hotel staff members. Chile coach Nelson Acosta was also suspended for letting it all happen. Not to be outdone by their senior side, the Chilean under-20 World Cup team also had some fun at their hotel in Toronto, Canada. Players were getting ready to go to bed when as many as eight women barged into player Alexis Sanchez's room, jumped onto his bed and started hugging him and jumping around.
Other players noticed this and went to help Alexis throw the women out, but they wouldn't leave. A confrontation happened in the corridor during which Alexis was smacked in the eye by one of the 'ladies'. The players and coach of the Chilean side confirmed days later that a "bold Italian" man had rented a room on the 16th floor of the hotel and had brought all the women there. The players insisted that none of them had asked for the ladies. Shush lads, before we get the impression you protest too much.
