MOBILE services firm Zamano is earning approximately 20,000 a week from sales to users of the popular social networking site Bebo.
Zamano's Veronica Texter application allows Bebo users to receive text messages on their mobiles from friends via Bebo. People sending texts enter the message in a box on the user's home page and no mobile numbers are disclosed. Zamano charges 2 per week for access and bills users via premium rate text.
Zamano chief executive John O'Shea said the firm had launched a beta version of the service six weeks ago and it had already attracted roughly 20,000 users across Ireland, the UK and New Zealand.
O'Shea said the company's revenue take from the service was now running to around 20,000 a week. If this trend continues Zamano are on course to take in over 1m per year.
AIM listed Zamano last week issued an update which said that it continued to experience strong trading and expects to report approximately 15% EBITDA growth for the first half of 2007 against the same period last year.
The company currently has a market capitalisation of �20.6m ( 30.5m).
