New leaseback apartment scheme launched in Nantes
June Edwards

A NEW leaseback scheme in the French city of Nantes has just been released to the market. Known as Residence du Chateau, this development is designed for short-term selfcatering rental to business people and tourists. In the heart of Nantes city centre, Residence du Chateau is beside the train station and the new business park 'Euro Nantes'.

A busy city, Nantes has over 1,200 shops, 110 hotels and 840 restaurants, ensuring strong demand for central rental accommodation. The city, which is two hours from Paris by train, is the main economic base in western France, and with 275,000 jobs in 29,000 businesses, it is considered one of the most dynamic urban centres in France.

In total, there will be 120 units comprising 46 studios, 67 one-bed apartments and seven two-beds, along with 42 parking spaces, a reception area, breakfast room, gym and sauna. Investors get a 4.7% net return on units in this scheme, and in general capital appreciation has been good, averaging 12.2% yearly over the last six years.

Prices range between 100,800 and 160,000. For further information contact Colliers Jackson-Stops 01-633 3700.
