Describe Minima's design aesthetic Soft modern, timeless, mixing best from the old with best from now.
How different is your stock to when you opened in 1997?
Trends then were beech and cherry wood, which mass-market copies have now made look unsophisticated. As we don't carry stock I try to ensure what we have is representative of the brands we sell. Trends now are pale lacquers and wenge finishes and softer textiles.
Do your prefer working on residential interiors?
It's good to have a balance and we've set up M Distribution for our commercial / volume clients. Residential work is often more rewarding as it is more personal.
What project are you most proud of?
Our work with DeBlacam & Meagher on the Esat Building (now BT HQ) Grand Canal Plaza.
What's your favourite design piece?
I love the Supporto office chair by Frederick Scott (1976) and Castiglioni's Taccia lamp (1962).
