Swatch may have done away with their Pop watches, but in their new Fall-Winter collection are the rather impressive snow pass ski watches. Simply load your skipass onto the watch online or at a ski station, and the turnstile scanner registers the watch face and authorises access. It all sounds very complicated and hi-tech, but somehow it works so just go with it. The Power Ride and Winter Race watches also come with a button to check your altitude. Brilliant.
Remarkably, they're not nasty looking either and there are loads to choose from and plenty of time to do it too before the next skiing outing.
