Oldtown Avenue, Co Dublin: From 825,000

HOMEHUNTERS looking for the best of country and city life will no doubt be interested in the launch of Oldtown Avenue, a small scheme of just 15 large upmarket homes in this small quiet village in North County Dublin, close to both Swords and Ashbourne.

Oldtown village is laid out around the small church built in 1827, and has a shop, national school, pub, health centre and cookery school. Designed in keeping with the traditional 19th century style of the village, these homes have deep-pitched slate roofs and finished in a mix of natural stone and smooth render, while window sills are granite.

On offer are 15 four and five-bed houses in five different designs. All homes are very large with an average floor area of 185sq m (2000sq ft). But apart from their size and idyllic location, these homes have been designed in compliance with the Sustainable Energy Ireland 'House of Tomorrow' programme which means they come with topnotch floor, roof and wall insulation, a heat recovery ventilation system and solar panels on the roof.

Kitchens are very impressive and include cream gloss and walnut units with granite worktops, while other features include 9ft high ceilings, Jacuzzi baths in main ensuite, multi-sound wiring throughout the house, and internal vacuuming system.

Price: four and five-bed detached houses from 825,000 to 1m
Agent: DNG Swords 01-807 4034
