Suite deal
The Shannon region is in the news again this week but this time for all the right reasons. The Lodge at Doonbeg's Ocean View Suite has been included in Elite Traveller's list of top 101 suites from around the world, a prestigious roll call that features places like the Royal Penthouse Suite at the Dorchester, London.
The suites were judged on their privacy, individuality, location and unique design. The final selection was made by Elite Traveller's editors and a roving team of celebrities including Roger Federer and Kim Cattrall. Ocean View, the only Irish entry, was praised for its traditional arts and antiques, and described as "a refuge of rare, lowkey luxury".
