As we reach our Golden Years we discover that many of our needs are very different.
Retirement can bring with it a slower pace of life or it can mean becoming more active than ever. Our requirements in terms of health, income and support, safety and security can also change dramatically.
There are many benefits available to older people to assist them in their changing lives. There is also a wide range of organisations that can offer relevant information and support.
To help you find out more, a new booklet Information Age . . . How To Access Senior Citizen Benefits has been developed and has been sent to the homes of all Social Welfare pensioners and other pensioner groups over the age of 65 years.
Information Age outlines relevant Senior Citizen benefits, including Medical and GP Visit Cards, State Pensions and the Security Scheme. It also directs people to a range of state and voluntary agencies that offer assistance to older people. From Citizens Information, Local Health and Social Welfare Offices, to a wide range of specialist and voluntary organisations, you will be able to find details on many services that can help you, at your stage of life.
For a copy of Information Age . . . How To Access Senior Citizen Benefits contact your local Citizens Information Centre, Social Welfare or Local Health Office.
