SOTOGRANDE, located 55 minutes from Malaga and 20 minutes from Gibraltar by car enjoys the title as one of the most upmarket tourist and residential sites along Spain's Costa del Sol.
Developed in the 1960s Sotogrande was home to the 1997 Ryder Cup and boasts a total of five golf courses including, La Reserva (18 holes), Almenara (27 holes and Golf Academy), The Royal Sotogrande Golf Club, Valderrama and La Canada.
As well as golf the Santa Maria Club attracts some of the world's top polo players and as the port is the first port of call for yachts entering Mediterranean waters facilities include 600 berths for vessels of up to 72 metres.
Within Sotogrande's port is Ribera Del Marlin, which offers two, three and four-bed apartments ranging in price from 500,000 to 1.2m and with upmarket specifications. Situated beside the pier, Ribera Del Marlin also offers purchasers the chance to buy their very own berths. The nearby Elysium Spa offers 11 treatment rooms, indoor swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and relaxation room.
In the port is the beach club of El Octogono where visitors have access to the swimming pools, bars and restaurants and with the influx of foreigners the Sotogrande International School has also been established.
