Back on IRFU watch, it was interesting to see that the Union decided last week would be a good time to launch a campaign to get people involved in their local rugby club. The campaign is rather bizarrely called 'Put Your Play into Practice' and its aim is to "capitalise on the high profile of the sport during the Rugby World Cup to boost rugby club attendance and membership nationwide". We can see why launching the campaign during the World Cup might have seemed clever a few weeks back but now that the public seem utterly fed up with the sport, perhaps holding off might have been an idea?
