Ken Doherty remained on course for a third vcpoker. ie Irish Professional Championship title after beating Gerard Greene 6-2 to reach the final at the Red Cow Exhibition Centre, Dublin yesterday. Doherty used his trademark tenacity to clinch a hardfought contest which turned when he fluked the last red in the sixth frame before clearing up.
"That was lucky but fortune comes and goes and you have to make the most of it when it comes your way, " he said. "I was put under pressure in this match and managed to step up my game. It's good to know that I can do that when the heat's on."
